A VOB (Video Object) file is the container format in DVD-Video media. VOB can contain digital video, digital audio, subtitles, DVD menus and navigation contents multiplexed together into a stream form. Files in VOB format may be encrypted. It is not the ideal format for Davinci resolve. Instead, raw clips like DNxHD perform much better in Davinci Resolve.

Step-by-step to Convert VOB Files to DaVinci Resolve Supported Formats
Mac Version Brorsoft Video Converter Ultimate taken as example, Windows Version share the same steps. Just keep in mind you have download the right version, Mac platform .exe files cannot be installed on Windows OS – and vice versa.
Step 1. Load VOB Files
Install and launch the VOB to DaVinci Resolve Video Converter, simply click “Load File” to load your VOB files to the program.
Step 2. Choose Output Format
Click Format drop-down menu, and choose Avid DNxHD(*.mov) from Avid Media Composer list as output format, which is an ideal editing format for DaVinci Resolve. Of course, you can also click “Common Video” > “MOV – QuickTime (*.MOV)” or “Final Cut Pro -> Apple ProRes 422 (*.mov)”as the target format.
Step 3. Start Converting VOB Files
With above settings, click Convert button to convert VOB files for DaVinci Resolve.
Once the conversion is complete, you can click Open button to get the converted files, then import them to DaVinci Resolve 12/13/14.
